Chief Kelley Zienowicz retired from the Morris County Sheriff’s Office after over 25 years of dedicated service, leaving a strong legacy of leadership and integrity. A graduate of Boston College with a Master’s in Forensic Psychology, she began her career as a civilian employee in 1999 and ascended to Chief Sheriff’s Officer by 2019. Zienowicz played a critical role in high-profile investigations, including the Roxbury double homicide in 2001, and was known for her expertise in fingerprint analysis. She successfully implemented the BEAST evidence tracking system and led several divisions, guiding the office through the COVID-19 pandemic. Sheriff James M.
Gannon noted her impact, stating she prepared the organization well for the future. In her farewell, Zienowicz encouraged her colleagues to be lifelong learners and supportive teammates. Her leadership extended internationally as she instructed at Hungary’s International Law Enforcement Academy. The law enforcement community respects her contributions, both locally and abroad.
