In Advanced Science, students engage in collaborative experiments to explore environmental issues, working alongside local organizations like Twin Harbors Waterkeeper to study the effects of plastics on beach ecosystems. Spanish teacher Annie Weldon’s Mercado marketplace simulation allows students to practice their language skills while creating and selling handmade items. These hands-on experiences not only enhance academic learning but also instill a sense of civic responsibility and community engagement.
