Firefighters responded to the scene at 5:51 p. m. to find flames originating from a bedroom, which quickly spread to other apartments. The Mifflintown Hose Company #1 upgraded the response to a second alarm, deploying additional crews to manage the situation.

Firefighters worked for about three hours to extinguish the blaze, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. The American Red Cross has been called in to assist the displaced families with temporary shelter and resources.
