The officers were on patrol when they observed an individual running from a group, attempting to hide what appeared to be a rifle. Although the suspect managed to evade capture, the officers promptly recovered four firearms abandoned in the area of 71st Avenue and Hamilton Street. This successful operation underscores the importance of proactive policing in addressing the presence of illegal firearms and reducing violent crime in Oakland.
