East Bay artists and businesses team up for a fundraiser to support immigrant services
The No Crumbs Collective, a group of East Bay artists, is raising funds to support immigrant services during the longest federal shutdown in U. S. history, which has left millions without SNAP benefits. Their new project, "Oakland Leaves No Crumbs," features a 2026 calendar and a jigsaw puzzle, with all proceeds directed to Centro Legal De La Raza. Last year's "Puzzle for Palestine" fundraiser raised $4,000 for the Middle East Children’s Alliance, showcasing local businesses in the process.
This year, the collective collaborated with Tangerine Prop Shop and various photographers to create original works for the new items. The launch party is set for December 13 at Hammerling Wines in Berkeley. Participants contributed their time and resources without expecting any profit from the sales. The featured businesses include Proyecto Diaz Coffee, a local roastery that emphasizes artisan coffee from smaller farms. The artists aim to promote food justice and community empowerment through their fundraising efforts.
