Oakland will honor the Oakland Ballers with a parade on October 5 after their Pioneer League championship victory on September 21. Mayor Barbara Lee confirmed that the celebrations will kick off with a rally at City Hall at 1 p. m. , followed by a parade at 2 p. m.

The city has not celebrated a baseball championship since 1989, when the Athletics won the World Series but did not hold a parade due to the Loma Prieta earthquake.
