Entire BART system was out of service for 6 hours

BART fully restored train operations at 11:45 a. m. after a six-hour outage caused by a computer equipment malfunction. Limited service had resumed in the East Bay at 9:30 a. m.

, with the Yellow Line running from Antioch to 12th Street Oakland, the Blue Line from Dublin to MacArthur, and the Orange Line from Berryessa to Richmond. Trains, which typically start around 5 a. m. , were halted, prompting BART officials to recommend alternative transportation options. Previous disruptions in May and last week due to network connectivity issues and equipment malfunctions have raised concerns about the reliability of the transit system.

BART is currently working on modernizing various features of its train system to prevent future delays. This incident follows recent equipment problems that caused smoke in the Transbay Tunnel, further affecting service.
