A four-alarm fire erupted in a commercial warehouse on East Eighth Street in Oakland, California, on Friday afternoon, drawing a response from at least 75 firefighters. The fire spread to a second building and multiple vehicles, including an RV, before being extinguished by 8 p. m. Preliminary investigations revealed that the warehouse may have been used as a cannabis grow site, according to Oakland Fire Department spokesperson Michael Hunt. Mayor Barbara Lee praised the firefighting efforts, stating there were no reported injuries due to their quick action.

Shortly after the warehouse fire was contained, a second fire ignited nearby, requiring 30 firefighters to extinguish a quarter-acre vegetation blaze.
