Beltrami County faces extensive power outages following a storm that impacted approximately 27,000 homes and businesses, with recovery efforts underway. Restoration crews from Beltrami Electric Cooperative and Otter Tail Power have made progress, reducing outages to around 4,000 and 11,000, respectively. Angela Lyseng, a spokeswoman for the Beltrami Electric Co-op, expressed concern over the storm's unprecedented devastation. Emergency management has issued a tornado watch until 10 p. m.

Sunday, complicating recovery efforts. Some customers may remain without power for up to a week as crews navigate hazardous conditions, including downed trees and power lines. The National Weather Service confirmed that while no tornado touched down in Bemidji, wind speeds reached 120 miles per hour, equivalent to a Category 3 hurricane. Emergency shelters have been established, and donations are being collected for those in need. Residents are advised to be cautious while clearing debris and to contact utility services before handling downed lines.
