Teenage boy arrested in connection with fatal shooting outside Northtown Mall

Authorities arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with the fatal shooting of Sudais Abdi Omar, 15, outside Northtown Mall in Blaine. Omar was discovered in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the chest and succumbed to his injuries at Mercy Hospital. Ayub Abdullahi Mohamed, 20, faces charges for aiding an offender related to Omar's death. Mohamed had been released on bond for a previous manslaughter charge when the shooting occurred. Investigators are still pursuing two other suspects, both boys aged 14 and 15.

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office and Blaine Police Department are handling the investigation. Local authorities have not disclosed further details about the second suspect. The incident highlights ongoing concerns related to youth violence in the region.
