A man succumbed to a gunshot wound at Regions Hospital in St. Paul on Wednesday, marking the city's fourth homicide of 2025 and the first involving a firearm. The police are actively investigating the shooting and searching for a suspect, with no arrests made thus far. The victim was admitted to the hospital shortly after 3 p. m.

and was pronounced dead despite efforts to save him. Authorities believe he was shot in an apartment building located on the 600 block of Stryker Avenue, where he had familial ties to the residents. Sgt. Toy Vixayvong stated that the victim knew the suspect, but the specifics of their relationship are still under investigation. Police assured the community that there is no ongoing threat.

This incident underscores ongoing concerns about gun violence in urban areas, as it marks the first firearm-related homicide in St. Paul this year.
