Iowa man dies a day after he was shot in Minneapolis

Michael Ray Adkins, a 48-year-old man from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died after being shot in the back during a vehicle altercation in Minneapolis' Phillips neighborhood. The shooting occurred Thursday night near Abbott Northwestern Hospital, where Adkins’ wife sought help after the incident. Despite immediate medical attention, Adkins succumbed to his injuries the next day, leading to a homicide ruling by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. Authorities have not yet made any arrests, and the alleged gunman remains at large. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara expressed frustration over the ongoing violence, promising that investigators would pursue justice for Adkins and his family.
