Easter morning crash on I-35W leads to freeway fight with 3 arrested and trooper assaulted

On Easter morning, a crash on southbound Interstate 35W in Minneapolis spiraled into a violent confrontation, prompting the temporary closure of part of the highway. State troopers arrived at the scene shortly after 10:55 a. m. and discovered a fight breaking out among individuals involved in the accident. During the chaos, a trooper was assaulted, leading to the arrest of a 24-year-old Minneapolis man for fourth-degree assault.

Alongside him, two other men from Illinois were arrested for their roles in the altercation. Remarkably, no serious injuries were reported, although a 20-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening. Lt. Mike Lee of the Minnesota State Patrol confirmed that no weapons were involved in the incident. This altercation underscores ongoing concerns about road rage and public safety on busy highways.

The investigation remains active as authorities seek to uncover more details about the incident.
