Firefighters race to rescue man badly burned after bucket truck touches Minneapolis power line
A man suffered severe burns after his bucket truck touched a power line in Minneapolis on Monday afternoon. Fire crews arrived shortly before 3 p. m. to find the man, initially reported as unconscious, in the bucket truck with a chainsaw beside him. Firefighters called Xcel Energy for assistance since the truck remained in contact with live electrical wires.
After Xcel shut down the power line, they used their own bucket truck to safely bring the man down. He was conscious during the rescue but sustained significant burns from the electric shock. Hired by a homeowner for tree trimming, his condition at the hospital has not been made public. A neighbor reported hearing a loud boom followed by shouts, indicating the seriousness of the situation. This incident highlights the risks associated with tree trimming near power lines.
