“Spotlight on Minnesota’s Triumphant African American Community,” directed by Anthony Scott, premieres with screenings across the Twin Cities, including one at Pohlad Hall in Minneapolis. The film aims to highlight the achievements of Minnesota's Black community, featuring figures from various fields such as politics and the arts. Scott's work builds on the legacy of his father, Walter Scott, a historian who documented the Black experience in Minnesota. The film showcases the contributions of influential local figures and aims to reshape public perception of the community. Scott's sister, Chaundra L.
Scott, an accomplished academic, contributes to the project's organization. “I hope viewers get a sense of the community that’s been thriving all along,” Scott expressed.
