One dead, three hurt in downtown Minneapolis bar shooting
A shooting at Bar Zia Grill in downtown Minneapolis resulted in one fatality and three injuries late Tuesday night. A 21-year-old man died from multiple gunshot wounds, while two women and another man suffered noncritical injuries. Witnesses reported a fight between two men that escalated into gunfire, with one woman describing the chaotic scene as she fled. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O'Hara confirmed that investigators have strong leads but have not yet made arrests. The bar had a history of calls for service, prompting police to collaborate with staff to enhance security measures.
Despite these efforts, recent weeks saw a rise in calls for service again. Officers faced a large, unruly crowd upon arrival, necessitating additional support from nearby precincts. A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of obstruction, as police continue to seek information from the public.
