Two killed in separate Minneapolis shootings Sunday morning
Two separate shootings in Minneapolis on Sunday morning left two individuals dead and one injured, escalating concerns over public safety in the city. Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation at 1:49 a. m. on E. Lake Street, discovering a man who later succumbed to his gunshot wounds at a hospital.
A second man, who arrived at the hospital separately, sustained non-life-threatening injuries believed to be linked to the same shooting. The following shooting occurred hours later on Russell Avenue N. , where a woman was found with gunshot wounds and died at the scene. Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara called for community cooperation, urging anyone with information to come forward to help end the recent spate of violence. In recent weeks, Minneapolis has experienced numerous high-profile shootings, raising alarms among residents and officials.
Investigators suspect the second shooting may be domestic-related, and no arrests have been made in either case. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will soon release the identities and causes of death for the victims.
