A mass shooting near Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Minneapolis left Gregory Sweeten dead and six others injured. The gunman, who remains unidentified, fired a high-velocity rifle into a crowd on Clinton Avenue, raising significant safety concerns among students. Sam Garcia, a sophomore, highlighted the anxiety felt by students after the shooting, which occurred just a day before another tragic incident at Annunciation Catholic Church. Tiffany Lynn Marie Martindale and Ryan Timothy Quinn were arrested for allegedly aiding the shooter. Police Chief Brian O’Hara described the recent wave of violence as “absolutely terrible” and committed to making the city safer.

The shooting has intensified discussions around gun control, with students like Jacqueline Cardona advocating for more restrictive laws. Witnesses reported a heavy police presence in the area, and school staff took precautions to shield students from the aftermath.
