Mass vandalism and thefts from vehicles spread to Linden Hills in south Minneapolis
Vandals targeted multiple vehicles in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis, breaking windows in what appears to be a theft attempt. Police suspect a group of juveniles is responsible for this crime wave, which has affected several neighborhoods in the city. A local resident reported that between 20 and 30 cars were damaged, with one teenager losing a wallet to the thieves. Security footage showed suspects using flashlights, indicating a calculated approach to the vandalism. Council Member Linea Palmisano confirmed the ongoing investigation and urged residents to remain vigilant.
Since mid-June, similar incidents have occurred in northeast Minneapolis, Uptown, Loring Park, and other areas. Last month, over 40 vehicles were vandalized in hotel parking lots in Bloomington. Police are encouraging those affected to report the incidents and check their security camera footage.
