Security provider, ex-cop is jailed again in Minnesota, accused of impersonating officer while armed
Trevon James Mattson, a 27-year-old former police officer, was arrested twice in Minnesota for impersonating a police officer while armed. His latest arrest occurred on July 25 after a driver reported him tailing them aggressively with emergency lights on. Mattson's previous arrest for similar behavior happened nearly a year ago, where he faced charges for carrying a gun without a permit and impersonating law enforcement. The recent string of incidents has raised concerns, especially following the arrest of Vance Boelter, who allegedly killed two state legislators while posing as a police officer. Boelter, 57, was found with a police disguise and opened fire on officers when confronted.
Law enforcement noted that both individuals used similar deceptive tactics to pose as police. Mattson's attorney, Paul Rogosheske, attributed his client's recent arrest to increased police activity stemming from Boelter's case. The Maple Grove City Attorney is reviewing the evidence and will decide on potential charges against Mattson by the end of the week.
