Minnesotas cannabis scene is growing. So is the Minneapolis festival that celebrates it.

Minneapolis, MNLocal News

Scheduled for Sept. 27, the Legacy Cup aims to celebrate the growing cannabis culture in Minnesota, attracting an estimated 15,000 to 20,000 attendees. The event will feature a diverse music lineup, headlined by Grammy-winning rapper Killer Mike, and will include over 150 vendors and activities like joint rolling contests. Founder Josh Wilken-Simon remains hopeful that the Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management will grant the festival a cannabis event organizer license, allowing on-site sales and sampling of adult-use cannabis. This follows Minnesota's recent issuance of its first recreational business license after legalizing adult-use marijuana nearly two years ago.

The festival will also host a cannabis product competition with awards for various categories, reflecting the maturing cannabis industry. Wilken-Simon noted the festival's growth since its inception in 2019, which drew more than 10,000 attendees last year. Additionally, an Industry Night will occur the evening before the festival, providing networking opportunities for cannabis professionals and enthusiasts. The event represents a significant milestone in Minnesota's evolving cannabis landscape.
