A 23-year-old man was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murder related to a mass shooting that occurred on June 1 at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis. The incident left 23-year-old Stageina Whiting dead and five men wounded, including one with life-threatening injuries. The suspect was taken into custody in Spring Lake Park and booked into the Hennepin County jail. Chief Brian O’Hara praised the investigative work that led to the arrest, hoping it provides some comfort to the victims' families. The gathering at Boom Island Park was described as a barbecue, highlighting the tragic circumstances of the shooting.
