Boys and Girls Club of Snohomish County Expands Through Strategic Partnerships
The Boys and Girls Club of Snohomish County is expanding its reach and services beyond county lines, thanks to new strategic partnerships with tribal communities. Now boasting 27 locations, including eight situated on tribal lands, the organization has become the largest Boys and Girls Club in Washington State. Executive Director Bill Sokalis addressed the Mill Creek City Council on March 25, 2025, detailing the Club's unique operational model that adapts to community needs. He highlighted the importance of trust and collaboration in working with tribal entities, which has allowed the Club to extend its geographical footprint into eastern Washington and beyond. The organization focuses on providing safe, fun, and affordable services, particularly for children from low to moderate-income families, with an average daily attendance of over 5,100 kids.
Key services include after-school programs, sports activities, and homework assistance. As they grow, the Boys and Girls Club remains committed to complementing existing community services rather than duplicating them. The meeting served as an opportunity to educate local councils about the Club's mission and potential benefits for the community.
