Mill Creek Library Repair Project to Begin June 3
Scheduled to begin on June 3, 2024, the Mill Creek Library Repair Project aims to enhance the facility's accessibility and safety. The library will close its doors on June 2, with construction expected to last approximately three months. Among the planned improvements are critical floor repairs that will extend the building's longevity and a new HVAC system designed to provide cleaner air and better climate control during extreme weather events. Additionally, the project will include the installation of ADA-compliant restrooms, with modern fixtures and an extra restroom in the children’s area to better serve families. The total project cost is around $1.
3 million, funded by Sno-Isle Libraries and a $200,000 grant from the State of Washington, a testament to the collaborative effort of local government officials. State representatives, including April Berg and Brandy Donaghy, were instrumental in securing this funding. While the library undergoes renovations, staff will continue to organize local events and assist patrons at neighboring libraries. The community is encouraged to utilize the Bookmobile and other library locations to stay engaged during the construction period.
