Mill Creek Police Chief Announces New Deputy Director of Public Safety
Mill Creek Police Chief Stan White has officially appointed Eric Chartrand, a retired Seattle Police Sergeant, as the new Deputy Director of Public Safety for the Mill Creek Police Department. With nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience, Chartrand has held various roles, including K9 Commander and member of a Federal Task Force. His vast leadership experience, particularly in supervisory roles since 2007, is anticipated to significantly benefit the community. City Manager Martin Yamamoto highlighted Chartrand's accomplishments, noting that his diverse expertise across multiple policing disciplines will greatly enhance public safety. The Deputy Director's duties will include policy development, overseeing training and scheduling, and managing equipment and supplies.
Additionally, Chartrand will evaluate departmental efficiencies to optimize police services for the community. This temporary position is funded through the American Rescue Plan Act and is set to last until December 2024. The Mill Creek Police Department continues to prioritize effective leadership and community service as it transitions into this new chapter.
