Veterans Day 2022 Ceremony Parade
The City of Mill Creek is gearing up for its annual Veterans Day Ceremony and Parade on November 11, 2022, aimed at honoring all who have served in the military. The day's events will commence at 9:00 a. m. with a solemn ceremony at the Veterans Monument located in Library Park, featuring remarks from notable figures such as Chaplain Nick Lewis and Congresswoman Suzan DelBene. A special tribute will be paid to 101-year-old WWII veteran Russ Hupe, who will serve as Grand Marshal of the parade, fulfilling his lifelong dream of riding in a sidecar.
The parade, set to begin at 11:00 a. m. , will traverse Mill Creek Town Center, showcasing local military and high school bands, color guards, and various community organizations. Residents are advised to prepare for traffic disruptions, particularly along Main Street, where parking will be restricted during the event. The Veterans Day Committee, which includes a diverse group of veterans and community leaders, has worked diligently to ensure the event's success.
