City Announces Appointment of Laurel Brock as New Deputy City Manager
Mill Creek has appointed Laurel Brock as its new Deputy City Manager, a decision announced by City Manager Martin Yamamoto. Previously, Brock served as the City’s Finance Director since December 2020, where she played a crucial role in financial planning, reporting, and audit controls. In her new capacity, she will continue to oversee these financial responsibilities until a new Finance Director is appointed. Yamamoto praised Brock's collaborative leadership and expressed confidence that her expertise will be invaluable as the city progresses through its rebuilding phase. Brock herself is committed to instilling principles of honesty, transparency, and passionate service within local government, aiming to position Mill Creek as a model of municipal excellence.
Her prior experience includes roles in the City of Ottawa, KS, where she developed her financial acumen. Brock holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business Administration and is pursuing a Master of Science in Finance from Seattle University. In her personal time, she enjoys activities such as traveling and horse riding, reflecting her well-rounded character beyond the professional sphere.
