Mill Creek Library Repair Project

Mill Creek, WALocal News

The Mill Creek Library Repair Project is scheduled to begin on June 3, 2024, following the last day of service on June 2. This extensive repair initiative, costing approximately $1. 3 million, is funded by Sno-Isle Libraries and includes a $200,000 grant from the State of Washington. The project will focus on critical areas such as flooring repairs to ensure safety and longevity, as well as the installation of a new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system to support community resilience during extreme weather. In addition, the library will enhance restroom accessibility by creating ADA-compliant facilities and adding a new restroom in the children's area.

State representatives, including April Berg, Brandy Donaghy, and John Lovick, were instrumental in securing the necessary funding for these vital upgrades. During the construction period, local library staff will continue to engage the community through events and support neighboring libraries, ensuring that residents have access to services. The Bookmobile will also visit the Mill Creek area throughout the summer, providing additional library resources. Community members are encouraged to explore neighboring libraries, which include locations in Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mariner, and Mukilteo.
