Regularly Scheduled Garbage Services for Labor Day Announced by City of Miami

Miami, FLLocal News

The City of Miami Department of Solid Waste has announced that it will maintain its regular schedule for garbage, recycling, and bulky trash collection services on Labor Day, September 2, 2024. This decision reflects the city's commitment to ensuring that essential services are not disrupted during public holidays. Residents who benefit from Monday's bulky trash collection are instructed to place their items out the evening before, adhering to specific placement guidelines to avoid interference with other waste disposal methods. These guidelines include keeping bulky trash five feet away from other objects and outside of blue recycling carts. Additionally, the City of Miami offers residents the option to dispose of their bulky trash at the Mini Dump Facility, provided they show proof of residency.

The facility's operating hours on Labor Day will be from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. Residents seeking more information or assistance are encouraged to contact the Department of Solid Waste directly via phone or through their website. This announcement underscores the city's efforts to maintain public health and safety standards, even on holidays.
