McMinn County, TNLocal News

Eric Johnson, a dedicated EMT in McMinn County, defied the odds after suffering a major heart attack last week, during which he was shocked 53 times and defibrillated four times. His family views his survival as a miracle, especially after enduring the loss of his wife, Erica, to cardiac arrest just 13 months ago. Johnson's son, Tyler, also faced a heart attack at 24 due to a rare vascular disease but has since recovered. Despite ongoing dialysis, Eric is now alert and able to communicate, prompting his family to express gratitude for his survival. His long-time friend, Lance McConkey, praised Eric's unwavering commitment to helping others, describing him as a fighter.

The family is requesting continued prayers and has set up a GoFundMe to assist with mounting medical expenses. MRI scans revealed mini strokes, but doctors believe there is no brain damage.
