Youth Finance University, based in Snohomish County, offers free online financial literacy classes for youth aged 5-13, led by high school students. The program addresses the absence of money management education in traditional K-12 curricula, focusing on crucial topics like budgeting, credit, and investing. Project lead Princeton Lok states the goal is to empower youth with essential financial knowledge. A third grader's success in saving for a major purchase exemplifies the program's effectiveness in fostering responsible spending habits. YFU is committed to expanding language offerings to enhance accessibility for underserved communities.

The team is also training younger leaders to ensure continuity and sustainability of the program. They actively seek partnerships with schools and nonprofits to broaden their impact in the greater Seattle area. Lok's initiative reflects a growing recognition of the need for early financial education in today's society.
