Card game Legend of Gadia debuts in Lynnwood
Around 30 people gathered at Zulu’s Board Game Cafe in Lynnwood for the launch of "Legend of Gadia," a card game by Mill Creek author Su Mon Han. This original game, inspired by Han's upcoming novel series, offers a unique blend of fantasy elements and quick gameplay lasting about 20 minutes. Han explained the game’s design was intended to provide a complete gaming experience without needing further purchases, contrasting it with popular games like Magic: The Gathering. The artwork, described as "tarot-inspired," was illustrated by Cyvii and Olha Hyshchak, ensuring all visuals are hand-drawn and not AI-generated. Han, a Yale graduate, expressed her lifelong passion for creative writing and drawing, which contributed to the game's development.
Initially conceived as bonus content for her readers, the game evolved into a standalone product that garnered positive feedback during playtesting. "Legend of Gadia" is now available online and at local stores, including Zulu’s Board Game Cafe and Fireworks Gallery. The game aims to engage players with its rich world-building and enjoyable gameplay.
