Webinar set for federal workers and others affected by the federal government shutdown

Washington state federal workers affected by the government shutdown can join a free virtual webinar on Oct. 23 from 1 to 2:30 p. m. The event, cohosted by the Employment Security Department and Pacific Mountain Workforce Development, aims to assist furloughed and laid-off workers in navigating unemployment benefits and other available resources. Participants will learn how to apply for unemployment, address health care concerns, and enhance job skills through training programs.

The webinar is part of the state's Rapid Response initiative, which provides support for large layoffs and workforce reductions. Key partners include WorkSource, Washington Healthplanfinder, and local workforce development boards. This collaboration underscores the state's commitment to aiding those facing job loss.
