Edmonds School Board to review proposal for 361M replacement levy in 2026
The Edmonds School Board will review a proposed $361 million replacement educational programs and operations levy during its meeting on Oct. 14, aimed for the Feb. 10, 2026 special election ballot. This levy seeks to replace the current one, approved by voters in 2022, ensuring continued funding for day-to-day operations not covered by state allocations. The proposed assessments are $83 million in 2026, $88 million in 2027, $93 million in 2028, and $97 million in 2029.
The board will also vote on using the General Contractor/Construction Manager method to oversee the replacement of Westgate Elementary School. Additionally, updates to the Board Norms & Protocols document will be considered, focusing on expectations for board comments during meetings. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p. m. in the district’s Educational Service Center, with a preliminary study session on legislative advocacy at 5 p.
m. that won’t be livestreamed. The full agenda is available on the ESD website. This levy is crucial for maintaining educational quality in the district, as it addresses funding gaps left by state support.
