The Cascade Symphony Orchestra opens its 64th season with a concert on October 27 at 7:30 p. m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts. The program features compositions from Mendelssohn, Grieg, Goldmark, Liadov, and Kabalevsky, including the rarely performed 2nd Symphony by Kabalevsky. Young pianists Aaron Jin and Jeffrey Zhao will perform significant pieces, including Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A Minor and Mendelssohn’s First Piano Concerto. A pre-concert lecture at 6:30 p. m. will be given by KING-FM's Dave Beck to highlight the evening's musical features. Ticket prices are set at $30 for adults, $25 for those under age 50, and $10 for youth aged 12 and younger.

Additionally, the Cascade Symphony is accepting applications for its 2025 Rising Star Competition, aimed at young pianists and violinists. Interested applicants must submit their entries by November 1.
