Prep football In battle of unbeatens, Terrace topples Shorewood

Mountlake Terrace Hawks claimed a significant victory over Shorewood Stormrays, winning 35-14 in a 3A Wesco League South Conference showdown. The Hawks took control early, leading 14-0 at halftime and maintained their momentum with a touchdown pass from Mason Wilson to Andrew McBride, who finished with a 56-yard catch-and-run. Wilson also contributed a touchdown pass to Elyjah Meegan and rushed for 78 yards. Owen Boswell shined offensively with three rushing touchdowns and 130 yards on 20 carries. This victory pushes Terrace to the top of the conference standings, boasting a 4-0 league record and 6-0 overall.

Shorewood, previously ranked No. 9, fell to second place at 3-1 in the conference. The Hawks' defense proved formidable, limiting Shorewood to their lowest scoring output of the season. With this win, Mountlake Terrace is expected to rise in the WIAA state RPI rankings and potentially enter the state AP Coaches poll for the first time this season.
