Lynnwood Council to vote on event center redevelopment contract Oct. 13

Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Lynnwood City Council is set to vote on an agreement to redevelop the Lynnwood Event Center campus during its meeting on October 13. This initiative, known as The District, seeks to transform the area into a mixed-use district featuring new housing, retail spaces, and an expanded event center. The council will also deliberate on financing for new streets to enhance circulation in the City Center, including the extension of 194th Street and the construction of 38th Avenue West. If the financing resolution is approved, the city will support a $15 million short-term loan between the Lynnwood Public Facilities District and the Snohomish County Treasurer. Furthermore, the council will consider updates to the public works policy to reflect current state laws.

This redevelopment project is significant for the city's long-term infrastructure and planning goals. The meeting will take place at 6 p. m. at Lynnwood City Hall and will be accessible via livestream. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to revitalize urban areas in Lynnwood and improve community resources.
