Edmonds College Art Gallery solo exhibition of Michael Wewer debuts Oct. 10

Edmonds College Art Gallery will debut Michael Wewer's exhibition “Origin / Identity / Belonging II” on Oct. 10, featuring 50 black-and-white portraits. This collection expands upon Wewer's original project and features students, faculty, and administrators from a variety of national origins, including contested regions like Palestine and Hong Kong. Wewer, who has taught photography at the college since 2001, aims to showcase the campus’s cultural diversity and foster connections among its community members. “Through my photos, I am also able to help people be seen and make their stories heard,” Wewer stated.

The exhibition will be displayed until Dec. 12 on the third floor of Lynnwood Hall. A reception celebrating the opening will occur on Oct. 10 from 2:30-4 p. m.

The gallery operates Monday through Thursday from 8 a. m. to 6 p. m. , Friday from 10 a.

m. to 2 p. m. , and Sunday from 1 to 5 p. m.

Admission to the exhibition is free, inviting all to explore the shared humanity within the Edmonds community.
