Hope is Brewing breakfast raises nearly 200K for VOAWW projects

Hundreds gathered at the Lynnwood Event Center for the annual Hope is Brewing breakfast, raising over $190,000 for Volunteers of America Western Washington (VOAWW) initiatives. These funds will support various programs, including food banks, early learning, and housing services. The event spotlighted the upcoming opening of the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center, a $26. 5 million project that aims to provide a comprehensive hub for community services. Located next to Trinity Lutheran Church, the 39,000-square-foot center will serve residents across South Snohomish and North King Counties.

President and CEO Brian Smith highlighted the center's role in creating a multigenerational and multicultural space for community engagement. He urged attendees to appreciate the impact of their contributions and volunteer efforts in fostering positive change. Smith's remarks underscored the importance of community in overcoming challenges faced by the nation. The grand opening of the center is scheduled for early January 2025.
