Mud Bay to match customer pet food purchases Sept. 27 with donations to shelters

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Mud Bay, an Olympia-based pet retailer, will match all customer purchases of pet food on Neighborhood Pet Store Day, Sept. 27. The retailer will donate an equal amount of pet food and supplies to one of 20 local animal welfare organizations. Co-CEO Marisa Wulff stated that "shelters are stretched thin right now, and food is one of their biggest needs. " This initiative not only supports animal shelters but also emphasizes the importance of shopping small and local.

Founded in 1988, Mud Bay has become the Northwest's largest independent pet retailer, with 65 locations and over 500 employees in Washington and Oregon. The celebration of Neighborhood Pet Store Day occurs annually on the fourth Saturday of September, aiming to strengthen community bonds. Wulff believes that teaming up with caring customers will significantly benefit local shelters. This effort highlights the retailer's commitment to giving back to the communities it serves.
