Budget, Crisis Care Center, land use revenue impacts on Sept. 17 Lynnwood council agenda

Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Lynnwood City Council plans to meet on September 17 to discuss critical matters affecting the city’s future. The session will begin with an update on the Crisis Care Center from Sea Mar Community Health Centers, which aims to provide short-term mental health and substance use stabilization. The council will examine 2021 data assessing how various land use zones contribute to city revenue, focusing on the benefits of density and mixed-use development for future policy. An update on the 2024-25 budget will reveal a $10. 7 million deficit, attributed to revenues falling short of projections in the first half of 2025.

In response to this financial challenge, the city is contemplating reductions in services and staffing. This meeting will take place at 6 p. m. at Lynnwood City Hall, located at 19100 44th Ave. W.

Residents can also access the meeting via livestream on the city’s website and Zoom. The decisions made during this meeting could significantly impact local services and development strategies.
