Sheriffs office investigating stabbing of transit security officer at Ash Way Park and Ride Sunday

A transit security officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries when he was stabbed in the leg at Ash Way Park and Ride in Lynnwood on Sunday afternoon. The incident took place around 3:10 p. m. after the officer confronted a man in a wooded area adjacent to the parking lot. Emergency responders transported the officer to Providence Medical Center for treatment.

The suspect, who escaped the scene, is described as having light hair and wearing a white or light-colored hoody. Sheriff's office spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe stated that this remains an active investigation. Authorities deployed a K-9 unit to aid in the search but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect. Local officials emphasize the importance of community awareness as the investigation continues. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about safety at public transit facilities.
