Help choose a new playground design for Martha Lake Airport Park

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Snohomish County is renovating Martha Lake Airport Park to replace its outdated playground, with community input gathered via a survey from August 13 to 25. The project budget of $550,000 is partly funded by the state’s Healthy Kid Initiative grant. The original playground, installed in 2008, has surpassed its expected lifespan of 15 years. Two design options are being considered: Alternative A features inclusive play areas and ramps, while Alternative B offers taller slides and additional accessible play elements. Community feedback from a previous survey highlighted the need for more benches and distinct play zones for different age groups.

The county aims to select and refine a design in the fall, with construction slated to start in early 2026. This renovation reflects ongoing efforts to enhance local recreational facilities and ensure they meet the needs of families. More information and the survey link are available on the county's website.
