Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings delights and challenges audience with trivia game at Third Place Books

Ken Jennings, host of Jeopardy! , delighted an audience of around 300 at Lake Forest Park with a trivia game featuring connections among notable figures, including a shared ear injury among King Hamlet, Donald Trump, and others. He promoted his new book, *The Complete Kennections*, which features 5,000 trivia questions linked by hidden connections, and includes previously published quizzes. Jennings reflected on the legacy of former Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek, who passed away in 2020, recalling how Trebek was often in pain but could transform into his iconic self when filming.

He emphasized how Trebek only fully grasped his impact on fans during his last months, noting the overwhelming support he received through letters and gifts. The trivia contest ended with a final showdown between Evan from Kirkland and Brian from Snohomish among six competitors. Jennings highlighted the enduring presence of announcer Johnny Gilbert, who has not missed a show since 1984 and now records from home. He acknowledged that while he brings his own experience as a former contestant to hosting, he feels he doesn’t match Trebek's excellence. This event not only showcased Jennings' trivia prowess but also celebrated the show's rich history and its enduring connection with viewers.
