More overnight southbound I-5 closures in Everett as repaving project continues, starting July 26

Southbound Interstate 5 in Everett will undergo overnight lane closures due to an ongoing pavement repair project. Initiated on July 19, the project will continue through the fall, affecting about four miles of highway between mileposts 193-188. Lane closures are scheduled from 7 p. m. Saturday to 9 a.

m. Sunday, 7 p. m. Sunday to 5 a. m.

Monday, and nightly from 8 p. m. to 5 a. m. Tuesday to Friday.

The Broadway HOV on-ramp will close during construction, although the general purpose on-ramp from Broadway will remain open to traffic. Travelers are warned to exercise caution, especially motorcyclists, due to grooved and uneven pavement conditions. Some work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather, requiring dry conditions for certain tasks. The Washington State Department of Transportation offers real-time travel updates through its mobile app and website. This project aims to enhance road safety and improve driving conditions on a critical transportation route.
