Kids and teens can earn prizes for reading at the library ends Sept. 2

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Sno-Isle Libraries sponsors a summer reading challenge, inviting children and teens to read and earn prizes until logs are due on September 2. Participants can download a reading log or use a Beanstalk account to track their reading progress. For every 20 minutes of reading, including being read to or listening to audiobooks, participants accumulate time towards a goal of 10 hours. Once achieved, they can visit local libraries in Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, and Mountlake Terrace to receive a free book. This initiative aims to foster literacy and keep young readers engaged throughout the summer.

The program emphasizes that all types of reading count, encouraging diverse reading experiences. The challenge remains open, making it accessible for newcomers to join and participate. Libraries serve as vital community resources in promoting reading and learning.
