Scene in Lynnwood City councilmembers help with trash pickup
Four Lynnwood City Councilmembers stepped in to assist with trash pickup on Sunday, addressing the needs of residents impacted by a Republic Services garbage strike. Council President Nick Coehlo, Vice President Josh Binda, and Councilmembers Robert Leutwyler and Derica Escamilla participated in the community effort. "This hands-on approach was our way of showing that we care and are here to help in any way we can," Binda stated. The strike lasted nearly two weeks, causing significant disruption to garbage collection services in Lynnwood. Regular collections resumed on Monday, easing the burden on residents who struggled with trash accumulation.
This initiative reflects the council's commitment to community engagement and support during service interruptions. The garbage strike underscored the importance of reliable waste management services for local communities. Councilmembers are likely to continue exploring ways to enhance service reliability and community involvement in future challenges.
