Hawaiian Shirt Contest returns to Lynnwood Luau, set for Aug. 16

The annual Lynnwood Luau will occur from 2-8 p. m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Lynnwood Event Center. Attendees can expect an afternoon filled with dancing, music, and Hawaiian-inspired food.

The Hawaiian Shirt Contest returns, sponsored by Kona Kitchen, with prizes for the best shirts in men’s, women’s, and youth categories. First-place winners will receive a $100 gift certificate, with additional prizes of $75 and $50 for second and third places, respectively. Participants must register for the contest and check in by 5:30 p. m. to take part.

Admission to the luau is free, but VIP tickets with reserved tables and food coupons are available for purchase. This event fosters community engagement and celebrates Hawaiian culture. Last year's luau saw a significant turnout, making it a highlight of the local summer calendar.
