Mayor Bass Announces Selection of Leading Global Infrastructure Firm to Support Long-Term, Community-Driven Rebuilding in the Pacific Palisades

Los Angeles, CALocal News

Mayor Karen Bass announced the selection of global infrastructure firm AECOM to aid in the Pacific Palisades' recovery from recent wildfires. AECOM will develop a comprehensive rebuilding master plan that incorporates community feedback, ensuring local needs are prioritized. The firm will also create an infrastructure reconstruction plan for utilities and a logistics strategy for managing construction materials in collaboration with local builders. A master traffic plan will be implemented to handle the increased activity from builders and construction vehicles. This initiative signifies a transition from emergency response to a focused rebuilding phase, expected to be the fastest in modern California history.

AECOM's expertise in long-term planning is anticipated to expedite the process of getting families back into their homes. The firm will coordinate with Hagerty Consulting, which has been managing debris removal and initial recovery efforts. This community-driven approach aims to minimize disruptions for residents and business owners during the ongoing construction.
