Mayor Karen Bass announced the selection of global infrastructure firm AECOM to aid in the Pacific Palisades' recovery from recent wildfires. AECOM will develop a comprehensive rebuilding master plan that incorporates community feedback, ensuring local needs are prioritized. The firm will also create an infrastructure reconstruction plan for utilities and a logistics strategy for managing construction materials in collaboration with local builders. A master traffic plan will be implemented to handle the increased activity from builders and construction vehicles. AECOM's expertise in long-term planning is anticipated to expedite the process of getting families back into their homes.
