Siqueiros highlighted the critical role of local journalism in amplifying community voices and ensuring accountability. The initiative has successfully raised over $17 million to support local newsrooms and partnerships, including collaborations with Boyle Heights Beat and investments in LAist and CalMatters. This effort is vital as Los Angeles faces multiple challenges, including recovery from devastating fires and a rapidly changing policy landscape.
